‘Come all ye faithful …’
In fact, come everybody – regardless of your religious convictions – and enjoy two afternoons of fun, community carolling.
- Sunday December 7th at 5pm. All are welcome at the Eddie Kornhauser Reserve at Casuarina Drive, Elanora, for this year’s first Christmas by the Sea.
- Monday 15th December at 4pm. You are invited to bring your family to Palm Beach Parklands, Palm Beach, for this year’s second Christmas by the Sea event.
The Eddie Kornhauser Reserve is a lush green, wide-open, grassy space with plenty of parking. For those who want to begin the festivities sooner the Eddie Kornhauser Reserve has an off-leash dog play area, children’s playground, a looping walking track, picnic tables and toilets – everything you need for a great day out in the summer sunshine with the family.
Palm Beach Parklands has a Treasure Island themed playground (with pirate ship), broad grassy fields, lots of shady areas, toilets and picnic areas, and the on-site Dune Café. The Café offers our hungry carollers breakfasts and lunches to eat in or take away. Palm Beach Parklands is one of the most picturesque community areas on the Gold Coast (winner of the Parks and Leisure Australia Award for play space in 2010). It’s a great place to relax, play, and meet.
Christmas by the Sea carols are becoming more popular each year. Participants agree there is something special, something traditional, and calming about bringing a community together and singing. It is an activity everyone can enjoy (regardless of whether you can sing or not). The locations are beautiful, the activities are positive, and the afternoons/ evenings a peaceful delight for all ages and backgrounds.
Christmas by the Sea carols are an initiative of the Gold Coast City Council. Everyone is welcome, everyone will have fun. See you there!
