Exhibition celebrates surfing legend at Surf World

Surf World Gold Coast is hosting a must-see exhibition starting on September 4, 2015, dedicated to the legacy of surfing legend Bob Evans, or Evo, as he was affectionately known. During the days of the 50s, 60s and 70s, Evo played a major role in developing the surfing industry in Australia as we know it today.

He was a founding member of the South Pacific Boardriders Club and the Australian Surfriders Association (now Surfing Australia), organiser of the 1st World Titles at Manly in 1964, producer of 13 surf movies and founder of Surfing World magazine.

Celebrate the life and legacy of Bob Evans with Special Guests Nat Young and Bob McTavish paying tribute to this surfing legend at Surf World Gold Coast. Also showing will be the premiere of Bob’s movie HIGH ON A COOL WAVE brilliantly remastered by Warren Delbridge.

Keep an eye out for tickets available on sale in early August by following Surf World on Facebook, or visit www.surfworldgoldcoast.com

Surf World Gold Coast is the city’s dedicated surfing history exhibit, located in Tomewin Street, Currumbin.
