Palm Beach Gold Coast local and Olympic champion kayaker, Ken Wallace, has been blitzing the podiums in the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Europe.
Ken has won Gold in the K1 5000 event and Gold in the K1 500 individual sprint finals in recent days.
Also taking Gold in the opening World Cup event in Portugal last week in the K2 1000m event alongside sprint kayak partner Lachlan Tame, the pair followed up with a Silver at this week’s K2 1000m final at the World Cup meet in Duisburg, Germany.
The impressive list of podium finishes is a great sign for Ken who aims to be a triple Olympian and score a spot at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil. He won Gold and Bronze at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and placed fourth at the London Olympics in 2012.
With back-to-back medals under their belt, we wish Ken and Lachlan the best of luck with their final World Cup races to come in Copenhagen, Denmark this weekend.
