Palm Beach Swimmer Cameron McEvoy Wins Gold at the Commonwealth Games

Congratulations to local swimmer Cameron McEvoy who is having a great 2014. Cameron trains at the Palm Beach Aquatic Centre under Head Coach Richard Scarce. Cameron and Richard returned from the Commonwealth Games with two Gold medals in the 4 x 100 freestyle relay and 4 x 200m relay, and a Silver in the 4 x 100 medley relay. Individually Cameron won Silver in the 200m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle.

Two weeks later and back racing again at home on the Gold Coast in the Pan Pacific Games, Cameron achieved more success in the pool. Competing against a world-class field and in a Pan Pacs Record of 47:82 seconds, Cameron fought on to win Gold in the 100m freestyle.Cameron also won Bronze in the 200m individual freestyle and again as part of the relay team, winning Bronze in the 4 x 200m freestyle and Gold in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay.

What a great couple of months for Cameron and the entire Palm Beach community and surrounding region wholeheartedly congratulates Cameron McEvoy and Richard Scarce. Well done!
